Terms & Conditions
Formation of the contract
The contract is made between the service provider, i.e. the singing teacher Kaija Kivioja, and the customer, i.e. the pupil. The contract is made when the customer has booked a singing or piano lesson by email, phone or in person. When booking a lesson, the customer has read and accepted the contract terms and conditions. If the pupil is a minor, a contract is made with their parent or guardian, who is responsible for complying with the terms of the contract. The buyer of a gift card is also considered a customer, in which case the terms of the contract apply to the buyer of the gift card in terms of prices and payment, and the recipient of the gift card or their guardian in terms of booking and canceling lessons. These terms and conditions are valid from 25 October 2023.
The content of the service
The duration of a singing or piano lesson is either 45 or 60 minutes, depending on the service chosen by the pupil. The term "lesson" is used in this contract for all singing or piano lessons of different durations. The content of the lessons is planned together with the pupil.
Lessons can also be organized as online teaching via video connection. Mostly the Zoom web conference application is used as an application. The duration of the online lessons are also either 45 or 60 min, depending on the service chosen by the pupil.
Bookings
The bookings are made by sending an email to kaijakivioja@hotmail.com, by phone +358 50 3398738 (FIN) or in person.
Canceling and rescheduling a lesson
The booked lesson must be canceled no later than 24 hours before the lesson. In case of sudden illness, the cancellation must take place by 10 o'clock the same morning at the latest. In these cases, the lesson can be rescheduled at another time. The lesson is considered to have been taken if the cancellation does not take place within the given time limits. In this case, the full price of the lesson will be charged.
Money is never refunded for canceled or unused lessons, and the purchased lessons must be used before the expiration date. However, the validity period of the purchased lessons can be extended in case of a long sick leave. In this case, the pupil must present a document of the sick leave to the service provider. If desired, the pupil can donate or sell the unused lessons.
Validity time of the lessons
Lessons can be purchased individually or in packages of five and ten lessons. Ten-hour lesson packages are valid for six months and five-hour packages for three months from the time of purchase. All lessons must be used within the time limit. The service provider is not responsible for reminding the customer of unused lessons, but the customer takes care of booking the lessons themselves within the time limits.
Prices
Prices are always checked at the beginning of the year and also at other times as needed. The service provider always informs the customers about price changes in advance.
Payment
Individual lessons are paid either in advance to a bank account or in cash at the beginning of the lesson. Lesson packages are paid either in advance to the bank account or at the beginning of the first hour of the lesson package. Gift cards are paid in advance to the bank account or in cash. Payment information will be sent to the email address provided at the time of booking.
Teacher's cancellations
The teacher is obliged to make up for the canceled lessons by giving them at another time.
Changing the contract
The service provider reserves the right to change the contract terms. The terms of the agreement are reviewed regularly, and the new terms replace this agreement in all respects. Customers will be informed of changes to the contract terms immediately.
Termination of the contract
The contract is valid for a limited time according to the lesson package chosen by the customer and ends when the purchased lessons have been used or the validity period has expired. For individual lessons, the contract is valid until the lesson has been held.
